Have you ever imagined a place in plain sight which reminds you of a dragon? And so much fantasy and colors in it that will make you feel like you’re in a Fairy Tale? Now you must be wondering if I´m crazy, but let me tell you that place exists and the name is Casa Batlló, placed in one of the most important streets is Barcelona: Passeig de Gràcia.
In this visit, you will learn about the historical moment when the house was built and remodelled, everything that Gaudi designed and his genius ways of mixing fantasy with reality. This marvelous building declared Unesco Heritage will show you the link between nature and architecture bonded in one, leaving behind this piece of art that amazes every single person who visits it nowadays.
We start the tour on the first floor and we´ll go from down to top commenting on the historical moment in the XIX century, every detail in the house, why it was built that way we see it today. The end of the tour is at the rooftop, where you can take amazing pictures of the view and be near to the dragon!!!
In order to make the most of the time, we need you to be at the meeting point 10 minutes before the tour starts. On the other hand, there is some information we think it’s important for you to know. Casa Batlló provides to their clients the possibility to leave the baby carriers in storage they have designed for this purpose. Also, they have wifi and the facilities are pet friendly (check Terms and Conditions in https://www.casabatllo.es/visita/). The ticket is only for one time entry, that’s why you should take all the pictures you like and enjoy every part of it, while you´re inside, because once outside, you cannot reenter.
Gaudi built the house inspired by the legend of Sant Jordi, which involves a dragon, a knight and a princess. Due to this matter, the 23rd of April (every year) the balconies of the house are filled with red roses and is a must see that day.
