This marvel of architecture was designed and built by Antoni Gaudi back in the XIX century and it has to be said: His last finished project! The citizens at the time baptized it as “La Pedrera” by the remarkable resemblance to a stone quarry, but the Milà family wasn’t very happy about it. Placed in Passeig the Gràcia, a few blocks from Casa Batlló, Casa Milà brings thousands of visitors every year to embrace its magnificence and the way Gaudi, always inspired by nature, combined architecture with fantasy and created a marvelous work of art will make the visit unforgettable.
We start a little introduction outside so you can enjoy the extravagance of the façade and then we go inside to start the adventure. Once in the building I´ll share with you a little history of the moment Casa Milà was built, Gaudi´s struggles to keep his enormous project alive and his mindset with it. The tour direction is from bottom to top, we finish at the rooftop so you can enjoy the view and take pictures of the soldiers (shhhh almost nobody knows).
In order to make the most of the time, we need you to be at the meeting point 10 minutes before the tour starts. You will find our guide with an umbrella with our logo. The ticket is only for one time entry, that’s why you should take all the pictures you like and enjoy every part of it, while you´re inside, because once outside, you cannot reenter.
Our guide will explain more about this fact, but let me give you a glimpse of it. Gaudi almost can’t finish the house, because the owners were not happy with the project and mostly with the façade.
